Other Activities

  • The first extended conference of GLAE, which was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the first and honorary president of GLAE, Professor Tina Geladze,the report on the activities of GLAE and New constitution of the ILAE as well as GLAE was presented.
  • GLAE has been actively involved in the development of the Intersectoral Global Action Plan (IGAP) for Epilepsy and Other Neurological Disorders and this initiative has been supported on the WHO General Assembly through the Ministry of Health of Georgia.

2022

  • Educational course an innovative digital educational app and web app with micro-learning methodology was prepared [“Relationship between health care practitioners and patients with epilepsy”] according to the Holistic approach of patient-centered medicine; the course is accredited by UEMS.

  • Georgian-Turkey conference on “Epilepsy Surgery” was organized and held in Tbilisi;
  • ILAE/ILAE-Europe/GLAE/GPNN the “10th Migration and Caucasian Summer School” was held in 2022, in Batumi, Georgia (55 participants, 15 national and International Tutors, accreditation UEMS/EACCME – 19 EU credits)

  • “Lifetime Awards” of GLAE were given to Prof. Çiğdem Özkara (Turkey) and to Torbjörn Tomson (Sweden).
  • The conference that was organized by the yang neurologists/epileptologists on epilepsy in children was held in Tbilisi, Georgia.
  • The round table of epileptologists – “Epileptological Consilium” was founded, where specialists from different neurological institutions meet to disscussion on difficult-to-diagnose cases of epilepsy and their treatment strategies. One meeting was held in the mentioned format.
